Burger To Do List
August 20th, 2009 by Josh
From two separate “30 Best Burgers in Chicago” lists, these are the places I want to try, in no particular order. Anything marked with an asterisk(*) appears on both lists; these places are top priority to try.
- Marc Burger* at Seven on State
- HotChocolate*
- Kuma’s Corner*
- Custom House
- Naha*
- David Burke’s Primehouse*
- Bull & Bear – I’ve had their Kobe beef sliders at a Yelp event, and they were amazing!
- The Capital Grille
- Hop Haus
- District Bar
- Duchamp*
- Smalll Bar
- Flub a Dub Chub’s
- Cross-Rhodes – Actually in Evanston, but I get up there from time to time
- Yoshi’s Cafe
- Five Guys Burger and Fries* – Hey if the President likes it …
- Epic Burger*
- The Counter
- Feed
- Green Door Tavern
- Jury’s
- Medici
- Paramount Room
- Rosebud Steakhouse
- Sola
- Wiener & Still Champion – Another Evanston location, the only burb to make my list.
Places on the lists I’ve already had a burger:
- Billy Goat Tavern – It’s not bad…the cheezborger would be much better if they used actual cheese
- The Gage – Not the best I’ve ever had, but a very strong contender.
- The Twisted Spoke – Haven’t been there for awhile. I need to go back for a Fat Boy.

Funny you should write on this topic; I actually just had a delicious burger at Duffy’s. Thursdays are $1 Burger Nights, though with beer and toppings it came to just under ten dollars. The music gets louder as the evening goes on; I recommend the six o’clock hour because I am an old fuddy-duddy.
